ENSAE graduate and certified actuary François Bucchini began his career as a researcher at INSERM.

He moved into insurance in 1987, holding a variety of positions within the AXA Group, including Head of Commercial Motor Insurance, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AXA Corporate Solutions. 

In 2001, he was appointed P&C General Manager at AXA France. He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Cessions from 2007 to 2011.

François Bucchini then became Head of Insurance at Groupama, before moving to Thélem Assurances. In 2015, he joined Gras Savoye as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

He joined the Covéa Group in 2022 as Advisor to Thierry Derez, Chief Executive Officer. He was made Chief International and Commercial Lines Officer in 2023.
