Sylvestre Frézal

Sylvestre Frézal is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and ENSEA and holds a PhD in Management Science. He began his career at the French Inspectorate of Finance before moving to the Autorité de Contrôle des Assurances (French insurance supervisory authority).
He has served as Dean of undergraduate studies at Sciences Po Paris, Director of Insurance and Financial Risks at Generali France and was founder of the PARI research chair into risk.
He joined Covéa in 2018, where he set up digital broker Appenin, and in late 2020 became Director of the Cabinet of Thierry Derez
He has also been a member of the CNAM Actuarial chair selection panel, as well as a member of the Scientific Committee of the French Institute of Actuaries, and has published a number of works and research articles on risk management.
In late 2022, he was appointed Chief Corporate Officer of Covéa and Group General Secretary with effect as of 1 January 2023.
